Following the lifting of the ‘Kildare Lockdown’ protocols, the protocols now in place for golf clubs is that issued by the GUI/ILGU to be in effect from 18th August to 13th September – see link attached:

There are a number of points in particular which we would like to bring to your attention.

COVID-19 PROTOCOL UPDATE

Bookings

 -              The course may now be played by members and their guests for casual and competition golf.

-              The ‘Guest’ option on the BRS is for use only where the guest is not a member of the golf club and the appropriate fee is to be paid in the pro-shop, or the bar after the pro-shop closes.  Members booking a place for a fellow member at any time must enter the name of that member on the timesheet - the ‘Guest’ option should not be used in this instance.

 Buggies

 -              The protocol states that where a golf buggy must be used, it should be used by one person only, or two from the same household, and sanitised after each use.

-              Where a buggy is rented and returned after the pro-shop closes, members are asked to remove any bottles, wrappings etc., to park the buggy in a safe manner, to plug in the charger to ensure availability the following morning and to return the key in the box provided beside the air compressor.

Bar/Restaurant Guidelines

 -              Our bar and restaurant are reopening with effect from tomorrow Wednesday 2nd September.  Members are urged to support the bar and catering team.  To help to ensure the safety of all, catering staff will be wearing face coverings and recording the names of all customers.  The current protocol also asks all customers to wear face coverings until seated and again on departure.

-              The guidelines regarding the availability of alcohol i.e. ordering a substantial meal, remain in place.
