Approach to 11th Hole

We wish you a Happy New Year.

This is another reminder that our 2022 AIB Spring League starts on next Sunday 9th January. It will take place over a six-week period.

To book your place in the Spring League please enter your name on the East Course timesheet (€10 taken from purse) for Monday 10th January, to be done before Friday 8th January so that we can allocate players to teams. Alternatively, you can put €10 in an envelope with your name and “Spring League” on it and leave it in the Pro-Shop.
All fees (€10 per player) will be given out in prizes which will be awarded to the best teams and the best individuals over the 6-week period.

Rules are as follows:

1. The Spring League Format will be Singles Stableford over 9 Holes (West & East Courses).
2. Each Competitor will play, using the relevant 9-Hole card off his 9-Hole Playing Handicap (Pro-Shop Label will show). Players must alternate between the West and East courses every 2nd week.
3. There will be no handicap cuts during the Spring League.
4. Players will be placed into teams with the number of teams determined when participant numbers are known. Teams will be picked, on a random basis, based on handicap index ranges to ensure that each team has players from each handicap group. It is anticipated that teams will have c. 5 members per team. Team members will not have to play together any week. Players do not have to commit to play in each of the 6 weeks.
5. All competitors will be awarded a minimum of 14 points each Sunday with the top 4 scores on each team counting to the team score for that Sunday.
6. The best 5 team scores over the 6 weeks will count towards the final team total score. i.e. each team’s worst weeks score will be disregarded. The prizes for the best individuals will be similarly based.
7. In the event of a tie for any prize, the best fifth counting card will count for count-back purposes and subsequently best 4th, 3rd, 2nd and 1st until a winner is found.

Happy Golfing!
